Site-Seeker Web Developer
Role Summary
Are you a self-motivated developer looking to take your WordPress and server management skills to the next level?
We are looking for a reliable, coachable Web Developer to join our fully remote team. This is a unique role: you won’t just be handed a list of tasks and left to figure it out alone. Instead, you will work directly alongside our current Senior Technical Lead over a transition period.
Through hands-on shadowing, pair programming, and structured mentorship, you will gradually learn our internal systems and take over day-to-day technical operations as our Lead transitions to a part-time supervisory role.
Who We Are Looking For
We are hiring for personality, resourcefulness, and communication just as much as technical skill. We are hoping to find that:
- You are a self-starter: You thrive in a remote environment and can manage your own time effectively without someone looking over your shoulder.
- You know when to ask for help: This is our most critical requirement. We do not want “silent spinners” who waste hours stuck on a single problem. You must know how to timebox a challenge, document what you’ve tried, and proactively reach out to the team for guidance.
- You are eager to learn the “Why”: You don’t just want to click buttons; you want to understand server architecture, DNS routing, and clean code practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Solid foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, and WordPress architecture.
- Basic understanding of web hosting environments, FTP, and database management (MySQL/MariaDB).
- Experience building or modifying WordPress themes (experience with Astra and Elementor is a huge plus).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You must be comfortable documenting your work and asking clear, context-rich questions via chat/email.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Experience with custom web application development (PHP/JS) from scratch.
- Familiarity with other CMS or e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, MODX).
- Prior experience in an agency environment managing multiple client sites.
- Familiarity with AI-based development tools such as Google Antigravity.
Benefits at Site-Seeker
- Medical insurance program.
- Contribution program for retirement savings.
- Flexible, high-performance work culture that rewards innovation and creativity..
